Every check approved, printed and in your books.
One place for bookkeepers, accounting firms, contractors and service companies to write, approve and print checks. Then sync them to QuickBooks Online, so no one retypes a check.
Nothing to install. Works in any browser. Your money stays in your bank account.
Approve before anything prints
No surprise checks. Nothing prints until the right person says yes, wherever they are.
Only approved checks print
A check can't print until it's approved. Even a check that matches none of your rules needs one approver.
Rules that match how you pay
Decide who approves what by amount and vendor. Add as many sign-offs as you need, up to 20. For example, anything over $5,000 goes to the owner.
Approve from anywhere
Approvers get an email and an in-app alert when a check needs them. They approve or reject in any browser, one check or several at once. The person who wrote it hears back either way.
Your client approves, your firm prints
Invite a client's owner as an approver for just that client's company. You prepare the checks, they say yes, and you print.
The office writes, the owner approves
Give each person only the access they need. Your office writes checks, and the owner approves the big ones from the jobsite or between calls.
Edits get a second look
If someone without approval rights changes a check after it's submitted or approved, it goes back for approval. A rejected check goes back to draft.
Pay on time without the busywork
Write and print checks in a few clicks, so you can pay subs, suppliers and vendors on time.
Write a check in a few clicks
Pick a saved vendor and type the amount. The amount in words, next check number and bank number line fill in for you. Type a new payee and it's saved as a vendor.
Stop reordering preprinted checks
Print finished checks on blank check paper from your own printer. A simple layout tool lets you line everything up. Use magnetic (MICR) toner if your bank asks for it, and test a check with your bank first.
Sign once, not a stack
Upload your signature once and it prints on approved checks. Your bank may require an agreement for printed signatures.
Keep the paperwork with the check
Add an invoice number, line items that total themselves, and up to 3 files per check. Attach the sub's invoice, the supply house statement or the client's bill. Months later, anyone can see what a payment was for.
Start with what you have
Import vendors from QuickBooks or a spreadsheet. Bring checks in from a spreadsheet too, and they arrive as drafts to review. Keep your bank and pick your starting check number.
Handle the whole check run at once
Select checks in your register to submit, approve, print, download, void or sync them together. Weekly check runs and client pay runs move faster.
Checks in QuickBooks, no retyping
Your checks land in QuickBooks Online without retyping, easy to match when they clear the bank. Month-end gets faster and calmer.
Set up once with what you have
Connect QuickBooks Online and import your active vendors with their addresses. Vendors you already added are matched by name, so nothing is duplicated. Firms connect each client to that client's own QuickBooks.
Every check lands in the right account
Link each bank account to its QuickBooks bank account. Then pick an expense account once per vendor, like Cost of Goods Sold for materials and subs. Every synced check to that vendor posts there.
Nothing entered twice
Each check lands with its vendor, number, date, amount, memo and line items. Add an invoice number and it goes in as a paid bill. Already entered the bill in QuickBooks? If the vendor and invoice number match, the check pays that bill instead of adding a second one.
Sync one check or a whole batch
You choose when to sync, and only approved checks can sync. Sync one check, every approved check for a vendor, or up to 200 checks you select. A short summary shows how many synced and how many were skipped. Sync a skipped check on its own to see exactly what to fix.
Catch problems before month-end
If a vendor has no expense account, you get a heads-up when you write the check. Other issues say exactly what to fix, like linking the bank account or adding the vendor to QuickBooks. Fix it and sync again any time. Each synced check shows "Synced to QuickBooks."
Deleted in QuickBooks? Sync it again.
If a synced check is deleted or voided in QuickBooks, auto-updates mark it as not synced. Then you can sync it again. A count of recent QuickBooks checks that didn't come from Check Terminal helps you spot payments made elsewhere.
Run every company from one login
Bookkeepers switch between clients and owners switch between businesses in one click, with each kept separate.
One login, every company
Switch companies from the top of the app in one click. There's no logging out and back in.
Each company stays separate
Every company keeps its own bank accounts, vendors, approval rules, check layouts, register and activity log. Each one connects to its own QuickBooks Online company.
Built for bookkeepers and firms
Prepare checks for every client from one place. Invite each client's approver to just that client's company. Every client follows the same simple process.
Built for owners with several businesses
Contractors can run a construction company and a service company side by side. Property managers can set up each owner, LLC or association as its own company.
Separate bank accounts stay separate
Add as many bank accounts as you need to each company. Each one keeps its own check numbers and links to its own QuickBooks bank account.
Simple pricing as you grow
Bookkeeper is $39 a month for 5 companies, with unlimited checks. Each extra company is $5 a month. Running one business? Pro is $10 a month.
Fewer surprises at the bank
Your bank gets a list of the checks you wrote. You keep a clear record of every step.
A Positive Pay file for your bank
Many banks offer Positive Pay. You give your bank a list of checks you wrote, and it flags any check not on it. Check Terminal makes that list in your bank's format, and you upload it. Formats are built in for Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citi, U.S. Bank, PNC, Truist and Regions.
Check numbers you can trust
Numbers run in order for each bank account and are never reused. A double click or dropped connection won't create a duplicate check.
Every void explained
Voiding a check takes a reason and records who did it and when. The number is retired for good, and only drafts can be deleted.
Know who did what, and when
Every check created, edited, approved, printed, downloaded, voided or exported is logged. Each entry shows the person, the time and their IP address. When a client or owner asks about a payment, the answer is right there.
Bank details kept private
Routing and account numbers are encrypted before they're stored, and screens show only the last 4 digits. Once saved, they can't be edited. QuickBooks access keys are encrypted too.
Voided checks for vendor setup
A vendor wants a voided check to set up direct deposit? Print a blank one stamped VOID with your real bank details. It doesn't use up a check number.
Know where every check went
See what you paid, who you paid and when, without building a spreadsheet.
The big picture at a glance
See checks by month and status, plus your top vendors by spend.
Every vendor's history in one place
Open any vendor to see every check you've written them and the total. Answer client and owner questions in a few clicks.
